Information for Contributors

The international journal Advances in Systems Science and Applications (ASSA) seeks to publish articles of top quality. Manuscripts should be prepared for publication in accordance with instructions given in the “Instructions for Preparing ASSA Papers”, details of which are condensed blow:

Contributors are invited to submit three hard copies of their paper(s), together with a disk containing the file(s) of the paper(s), to the Editor-in-Chief or ASSA Editorial Department in Wuhan or Pennsylvania.

All manuscripts must be prepared in English. It is the responsibility of the author(s) whose native language is not English to insure that the manuscript is submitted in a style, which is acceptable and compatible to that of a native English language reader. While some editing is performed by the editorial staff of ASSA, major portions of manuscripts cannot be rewriting but rather, will be returned to the author(s) for corrections. The author(s) should seek out suitable assistance in insuring that the manuscript properly addresses the grammatical and stylistic requirement of ASSA.Manuscripts may be rejected for publication in ASSA due to improper English language, which may cause difficulties for referees to understand the intent of author(s).

Authors should follow the guideline to prepare their manuscripts for submission to ASSA. The manuscript must be typed on one side of white paper in double spacing with wide margins, and contains an abstract of about 150 words. A list of keywords should be put at the end of the abstract. References should be numbered consecutively and be put at the end of the Paper.

1. Form of papers are as follows: headline, author, address, abstract, keywords, main body, references, fund.

2. Journal format: 16 size(B5), signal column, margin of the top, bottom, left, right are all 2 centimeter. Sections before and behind are 0 pounds, the minimum of row spacing is 0 pounds. Font requirements: headline is in size 4, footnotes is in size little 5(Times New Roman), others are all in size 5(Times New Roman). Choose options of difference home page and odd-even page. Page header is 1.2cm, and page footer is 1.75cm.

Headline:

Be in the middle, capitalize the first character of the first word and name. Headline must be brief and clear, avoiding starting with article or preposition. Abbreviation should be spelled unless it is know by all. Distance before sections is 42 pounds.

Author:

Be in the middle. Distance before sections of author is 6 pounds. The names of authors is divided by comma. Author’s honor, degree etc. should be omitted. Distance after sections is 0 pounds.

Address:

Be in the middle. If several addresses are provided, they should be notified by superscript. Please provide your detailed units and communication address. Segment after the address is 24 pounds.

Abstract:

While abstract is boldfaced, others are italic with size of little five. All the abstract should no more than 200 characters.

Keywords:

While keywords are boldfaced, others are italic with size of little five. The segment before is 6 pounds and The segment before is 30 pounds. The space between keywords is two characters, and all keywords should be capitalized.

Page header:

The size of characters is little five. Odd pages are right aligned and their contexts are in the middle while even pages are left aligned and their context is in the middle.

Page footer:

The size of characters is little five. Only first page has its page footer.

Main headline:

Main headline is engrossed in one row and positioned in the middle. Capitalize the initial character of each word and boldface every word. Number the main headlines from one in order. Segments before and after are both 6 pounds.

Child headline:

Child headline is engrossed in one row and positioned left aligned. Capitalize the initial character of each word and some name which must be capitalized. Boldface each word of the child headline. Number the child headline in order in reference to the following example.3.1 means the first subsection of the third section. 3.2.2 means the second subsection of section3.2. Segment before child headline is 3 pounds and segment after child headline is 0 pounds.

Reference label:

Reference in the paper should be labeled with superscript.

Abbreviation:

Except for some commonly used abbreviations, all abbreviation should be spelt with it full original words and put its abbreviation within parenthesis when it appears for the first time.

Formulas:

Formulas in the paper should be complete. When some symbols can’t printed, they should be clearly written by hand in black ink(just use black ink, but not plumbaginous pencil or blue ink). Formulas in the paper should be numbered by Arabic numerals, which is put with parenthesis and right aligned.

Chart and table:

Chart and table should be put close to it context as possible as it can. For better, chart and table should be put with one page.

Appreciation:

Thanks for assistance in technology and finance should be included in this section. This section should closely follow the context, but set before the reference section.

Addenda:

This section should closely follow the appreciation section, but set before the reference section.

References:

References quoted in the context are numbered in superscript. The references listed include:

(1) references to books: author, headline(italic), publisher,publishing year,page number.

For example:

[1] M. L. Zhou. Similarity System Theory. Scientific and Technical Documents Publishers House, 1994:1-289.

(2) references to periodicals: author, headline, name of the publication(italic),publishing year, volume, publication number, starting and ending page number.

For example:

[1] Y. Lin. Feedback transformation and its applications.Journal of Systems Engineering, 1994, 21(3): 32-18.

The paper should be submitted in its final form. All papers submitted to ASSA will normally be refereed by at least two competent referees prior to acceptance and publication. Author(s) will be notified about acceptance/ rejection after the papers have undergone such a rigorous evaluation procedure.
